Kansas Love

You know those nights where no matter how hard you try you just can't get to sleep. Well tonight (or should I say this morning) has been one of those times for me. So I figured I should do something productive with my time awake. So I opened my DIY board on Pinterest and looked to see if there was anything I complete with materials I have on hand.

Now you're probably wondering what I made at 2am. Let me remind you that this post would be pointless if I told you I didn't find anything, so yes I did find something I could do. I discovered an image I had pinned awhile ago (16 weeks ago actually) and knew I could manage it. The only material I needed was my wonderful MacBookPro. Check. Yep, so this project cost me a whole whopping...I mean zero dollars.

Here's the inspiration piece...

And here's what mine looked like after an hour with MS word...

This project didn't take as long as I thought. I found a Kansas state outline via google and went from there. I changed the color of it to grey, added dashed lines, downloaded that cool font (Learnign Curve Dashed) from the web, and added a red heart.

So there you have it. A wonderful piece of art that cost absolutely nothing to make except some time. I'm planning on printing this out on a piece of white card stock paper and framing it tomorrow!

Stay tuned tomorrow for what the final product looks like framed!
