Introducing Jewelmint

Earlier this month, I posted about Birchbox which is a monthly subscription service. For $10 a month you get 5-6 deluxe beauty samples ranging from cosmetics to fragrance and skincare. Although, I haven't received my first box yet (should arrive around the 10th) I am really excited to get some new products.

Meanwhile, I've been researching other monthly subscription services and came across a great one called Jewelmint. It works in the same way as Birchbox or Eco-Emi, but instead of beauty samples it's for jewelry! What a genius idea! All the pieces are inspired by Kate Bosworth and her stylist, Cher Coulter. This service is a little pricer at $29.99 per item but we are talking about jewelry pieces here.

This site is absolutely AMAZING! The pieces are all so unique. Nothing like you would find in a Forever 21 store or anywhere else. And they only make limited quantities of each piece so many sell out quickly. Also, when you first join (see link below) Jewelmint has you take a style quiz where you pick your favorite outfits, nail polish colors, celeb styles, etc. and they choose your jewelry pieces for you based on that. If you don't like the pieces in your showroom you can click "Show Me More". They have so many great pieces available that you're bound to find something you love!

To join Jewelmint please visit: http://jmnt.me/rnvY1J

To give you an idea of the pieces, here are some I'm going to be purchasing soon!

Fall Trends to Try

Tonight I spent a couple hours cleaning out my closet. I wouldn't say I'm a pack rat, but I am a pro of keeping clothes thinking I'll eventually wear them. However, tonight when I looked in my closet I knew some of them just had to go. Which ones though? Well, I figured that I would pull out all the ones that I haven't worn in 6 months or more. I ended up pulling out a few short sleeve tops, about 15 long sleeve tops/cardigans, and 5 pairs of jeans that no longer fit. There is still more sorting out to do, but I'm leaving that for a later day.

This fall, I am really going to try and focus on buying practical pieces. Before I buy an item I'm forcing myself to enforce this rule: Can I think of 3 outfits this can make? If so, then that item is mine to purchase. However, if I cannot think of some outfits off the top of my head, I'm going to do my best to pass on that item. So with that said, here are a few staples I already know I need...

- skinny jeans
- bootcut jeans
- fall boots (preferrably brown)
- decorative black belt
- structured blazer
- striped sweater

I'm hoping these pictures below will give me some inspiration with my particular pieces. Now, if Autumn would just get here a little sooner... Fall Trends to Try

Pinterest Challenge

I realized earlier this morning that will all the time I spend on Pinterest, I should be sharing some of those amazing things here on my blog. (If this is the first time you're hearing about Pinterest, please check this out first!) For those of you have experienced this amazing site, you know just how addicting it is. You also know that you pin pin pin, but never really get around to making any of those things or trying those recipes. I can't just let my 1,842 pins go to waste so here's where YHL comes in...

If you haven't heard of the blog, Young House Love, you are truely missing out. It's about a young couple, Sherry and John, who are absolute house design pros. They have all kinds of cool projects that they are always up to. Anyways, Sherry and her friend Katie realized they are having this problem with Pinterest too so they created a challenge. One that I am excited to be a part of!

Anyways, the challenge is quite simple. Choose one of your pins and actually take the time to create it. To see Sherry & Katie's video explaining the challenge, see here. But if you just want a bulleted list, check this out!

- Pick one of your pins from Pinterest.com
- Make that pin come to life! Whether it's a new recipe, DIY project, or anything else you choose!
- You have until August 2nd to create your masterpiece and share it with everyone! Share your blog link in our comment box below and also over at the YHL site.

So get pinning and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! Sherry is working on a clothespin chandelier, but I'm working on something else. It just so happens that I was already planning this party when I read about the challenge. Am I psychic or is it just a weird coinsdence? I'll let you judge that.

Here are a couple hints as to what I'm cooking up for the challenge...

As for my favorite item, that is staying a surprise just in case any of my girlfriends read this! I'm so excited for this party next week. It's going to be a great way for all of us to celebrate together before we part our separate ways for college. My party isn't until Thursday so unfortunately I won't have anything to share Tuesday morning but I'm excited to read about everyone else's successes and failures.
