Be bold. Make a statement.

Yet another inspiration board. I promise, another outfit is coming as soon as my schedule dies down a bit, but for now here are quite a few necklaces that I'm really into. Being the jewelry junkie that I am, these all caught my eye. I'm especially in love with the Francesca's Collections necklace. And with the 30% off coupon that Kendi featured on her page today, I'm tempted to just go ahead and buy it. After all, I believe that every girl needs a bold statement necklace. They are the easiest way to jazz up a simple outfit like a v-neck and jeans. Just add your favorite statement necklace, some heels, and a cute bag and you're set to go!

I haven't been dressing cute the past few days, but that doesn't mean I haven't been inspired. Here are some items that I'm absolutely in love with right now. I don't know what it is about earth tones, but they just capture my heart at hello.

Yellow Rainboots and Feather Rings

I've been doing really well with the 30 for 30 Challenge...until now. I've been slacking BIG time. I haven't worn a cute outfit since Saturday. With the weekend and finals the past few days, I just haven't been in the get-up-early-and-put-thought-into-your-outfit mood.

Not only, have I been slacking on my outfits, but I also broke the "no shopping" rule today. I was at Target buying some Thank You cards when the jewelry section started calling my name. Once I began looking, it was game over. I just couldn't help myself when I saw this beauty.

Feather ring - Target {see similar from Etsy here}

As if my laziness and rule breaking weren't enough, bad luck decided to pile on top of this sundae to top it off with a so-called maraschino cherry. Let me explain. Okay so my yellow rain boots that I ordered online from Target arrived to my house the other day. Normally, I'd be jumping up and down with joy. Don't get me wrong, I was...until I tried them on. My legs are pretty skinny and the boots were extremely clunky. I wasn't 100% in love with them, so I returned them on Sunday. Now the forecast for tomorrow is calling for a 68% of rain and I don't have pair of rain boots to wear. Go figure.

Psst: For those of you who are wanting to buy a pair of those yellow boot beauties, I should inform you that they've been marked down from $24.99 to $17.49! So if clunky yellow rain boots are your thing, check em out here.

Psssssst: They also have other colors ON SALE like red, lime green, lilac, baby blue and many others for those of you who aren't digging the bright yellow.

Day Three: Figure Eight

Well, Blogger is officially done with their site maintenance so here's a looksy at my third outfit of the 30 for 30 challenge. The picture is a little blurry, so I apologize. I was in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to take too many pictures. This is the best quality one I could find.

Shirt - Target {seen here}
Floral Scarf - Target {see similar here and here}
Jeans - American Eagle
Grey Gladiator Sandals - Zellers {see similar here}
Clear Dangle Earrings - Charlotte Russe {see similar here and here}

Here's a close-up of that scarf. I had bought this at Target last year around this time, so it's no longer available. However, I tried to link two scarves above that are a similar floral print. As for this scarf, I normally just wear it looped around, until I found a new way to wear it on Pinterest.

I'm totally in love with this new figure eight way to wear my scarves. If you have any other ways to wear them, I'd love to hear about it! I own a TON of scarves so I'm always looking for new ideas.

Day Two: I'm on a Boat

Here's my outfit from Wednesday, which was #2 for the 30 for 30 Challenge. For some reason, it just screams "I'm on a boat!" haha. Anyone else catch my drift?

Shirt - Target {seen here}
Shorts - Forever 21 {seen here}
Necklace - Premier Designs
Rubber watch - Kohl's {seen here}

Now do you see what I mean by the boat fashion look? All I would need is this pair of Sperry's to finish it off. On the topic of shoes, I totally forgot to take a picture with them on. I apologize for my not-so-good-looking feet. They never have been a fave feature of mine. Maybe this will make up for it...

I had a special event Wednesday night so I dressed my look up a little by adding my denim skirt and nude pumps, both from Target. The swap from shorts to skirt was simple, but gave it a totally different look. It's amazing how one piece of clothing makes such a difference.

Okay, well that's all for today. Look back tomorrow for outfit #3 that I wore yesterday. I would have uploaded it today (and this current one yesterday) but Blogger has been down for the past two days. Let's hope that they'll hold off their maintenance until after my next post. *Fingers crossed*

Day One: Special Request

This is the start of something new (HSM reference, anyone?). As many of you know, today I began the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge that I stumbled upon thanks to Kendi Everyday.

As of today, she has changed the rules into guidlelines and altered the program a tad. However, the main goal is still the same: pick out 30 pieces from your closet and remix them into 30 new outfits. This doesn't mean you have to do the challenge in 30 days. You remix your outfits when it best fits your schedule. After all, everyone, including me, loves to wear their stay-in-my-house-all-day-and-do-nothing-sweats every once in awhile.

Okay so now to the juicy details. Here are some pics of my Day One from today.

Oh, and I apologize in advance for the crappy mirror pictures. No one else was around this morning to give me a hand. Only later did I remember my camera had a self-timer. Whoops!

Not many of you know this, but last night was actually the first time I've painted my fingernails in years. Literally. My polish always seems to chip or fade too quickly so I just don't bother. However, in the dead months of winter I had made an online Sephora purchase for some St. Tropez tanning lotion. At the same time I decided that ordering a bright color of polish might be great for the summer.

  I chose this coral-pink shade of polish by OPI for Sephora. It's called Special Request and it was on sale for $5! Can't beat that for some good OPI polish! This shade isn't available online anymore, but there are some other $5 colors on Sephora's site here. I love the Access 24/7 for a darker shade.

Also, if you're wondering, the nail polish matching my cardi was totally unplanned. I painted my nails last night and at that point in time I had no idea what I was going to wear the next day.

 Well, it's only day one but so far, so good. Check back to see what I come up with for outfit #2!

The Wait Is Almost Over

I spend enough time on Pinterest as it is, but tomorrow will likely feed my addiction further. Their design team has finally put together an app for the iPhone/iTouch. It will allow you to pin your inspiration on-the-go. Many other web-based features are available as well.
