Friday's Fancies: April Showers

Today I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving for something she does once a week called Friday's Fancies. Each week there's a theme and today it's all about April Showers.

What makes you feel chic even on the rainiest of days? For my look, I decided to combine two -- one for those days when it just lightly drizzles and another for the days when it downpours.

April Showers

Psst: If you're interested in participating in Friday's Fancies, head on over to Long Distance Loving to sign up and receive her weekly e-mails. This way you'll know the themes in advance and have plenty of time to create your own inspiration board. It's also a great way to meet new fashion bloggers!
Next week's theme is Flower Power -- all about floral prints!

Introducing: Blog Sale

I am so happy to announce that after a long night, I have the blog sale up and running! Now I'm sure you're wondering, what in the world? You never mentioned a blog sale? And that's exactly right. SURPRISE! I'm having a blog sale!

This is something I've been thinking about doing for awhile now, I just haven't had the time to get around to it. I did a bunch of research this week on store apps I could incorporate into my blog, how to run a blog sale, etc. I'm proud to say I figured it out all on my own, and with some help from Google of course.

Today is the first day the blog sale will be running. There might be a few bumps along the road, so please bear with me. However, the store is linked up to PayPal so everything should go smoothly! Here's a peek of what the shop looks like. Everything is sorted by category for easy browsing!

Shipping is $3 for a bubble mailer (up to 5 oz) and $5 for a flat rate box. As of now, I'm only shipping within the United States, but please feel free to e-mail me if you're in Canada or the UK and are interested in buying multiple items!

All of the products in the blog sale are brand new or gently used. Here are just a few of the brands you'll find in the store! Be sure to check out the blog sale for many other brands not listed.

Disclaimer: All items were purchased with my own money and are ones I never ended up using or gently used. I don't have the space to keep a stash of products, so these need to find better homes!

New Blog Features: Part Two

A couple weeks ago I posted about some major changes that happened on the blog. The popular Twitter feed, social media buttons, and RSS feed just to name a few.

Well I've been working hard this past week to make a second round of changes. These ones are minor changes, but they sure do make my blog more fancy looking!

Update #1: Buttons
Thanks to the wonderful Jessa over at Confessions of the Cupcake Countessa, I now have two buttons to represent Framed Frosting! There are two sizes (square and horizontal) so hopefully they will fit into the layouts of most blogs. To grab a button, all you have to do is copy the HTML code for whatever button you prefer. Then, add it to your collection of buttons on your site and that's it!

Update #2: Free Ad Swapping
Now that I have blog buttons, I am excited to host free ad swapping! For those of you who aren't familiar with this, I host your blog's button in my sidebar underneath the Friends section. This is wonderful advertising for your blog and it's absolutely free! I only ask that you please host my button on your site too and that your blog is similar to mine in content (fashion, beauty, food, DIY, etc.

Your blog button must be 100x100 and please also include your name, blog URL, and a brief description of your blog when you e-mail me at: [email protected].

Update #3: Section Headers
This is another new feature thanks to Jessa! She was my lifesaver this week and I have her to thank for these amazing section headers! If you check out the sidebar on the right, you'll notice the cute little titles for About Me, Grab a Button, Sponsors, Archives, Labels, and Friends.

Jessa has such a talent for graphic design, it's amazing! Please check out her Etsy shop to see her graphic design work, vintage clothing, jewlery, accessories, and more. Psst: Use code: IHEARTCCC for 10% off your purchase!

Also, be sure to check out her wonderful blog! She is currently doing a Hunger Games outfit series in anticipation of the movie release!

Spring Break Begins

Today is my first day of Spring Break and I could not be any more excited! I have really worked hard the past few weeks and it's wonderful to have this next week off. I plan on spending my morning relaxing in the bathtub with some new LUSH products and reading a Nicholas Sparks book.

I don't know what it is exactly, but I absolutely adore the combination of coral and seafoam green. The two colors together are perfect for a Spring outfit. Now only if there was a way to automatically add this outfit to my closet without spending a dime...

Music Monday: Soundtracks

I came across a wonderful blog last week called the Confessions of a Graphic Design Student. Her name is Kristen and her blog is adorable. She has so many great tips for new bloggers and fun link up parties.

Every Monday she does a link up party called Music Mondays. I haven't participated before, but when I saw today's theme was Soundtracks, I knew I had to make my own play list. So here it is!

Head on over to Kristen's blog and listen to her playlist. Then, if you decide to create your own, link it up on her site and grab her adorable Music Monday button! It's simple to do and so much fun. I can't wait to see what other girls have come up with!

Next week's Music Monday theme: St. Patrick's Day!

My First Shopping Haul

As you all know from my post on Thursday, I was going on a major shopping trip this weekend. My friend and I had a blast and we both got so many great pieces! I thought I would share it all with you making this my first official shopping haul!

These are just a few of my purchases. I also purchased from J. Crew whose bag isn't shown because I'm saving it to do this DIY project with! I hope you all enjoy this haul!

I managed to get everything from my list except for a pair of grey flats and a pair of jean capris. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for those in the upcoming weeks! But I did manage to find some colored shorts, cute tops, lots of jewelry, and some beauty products!

Colored shorts were something on my list to buy this weekend and I lucked out with two pairs from J. Crew and a navy pair from Forever 21. As for J. Crew, I have always walked into the store thinking "Oh my goodness. This store is totally my style!" but it is so out of my price range at the same time... which is why we hit up the J. Crew factory store! I fell in love and can't wait to go back. Honestly, if I could sum up my fashion style based on one store, it would be J. Crew for sure. Psst: If you're also a college student, be sure to show your ID at J. Crew to score an additional 15% off your purchase!

J. Crew 3" Chino Shorts (gray and khaki) // Forever 21 {similar shorts}

J. Crew Striped v-neck sweater // Forever 21 color block top // Ann Taylor ruched top

Vera Bradley Large duffel (in Watercolor)

Forever 21 mint flower studs // Forever 21 peach teardrop earrings // Charming Charlie chain ring // Charming Charlie gold watch // Charming Charlie gold chain bracelets

I also got something called a Little Black Dress. It's a jewelry organizer that has pockets on one side for earrings and bracelets, and velcro loops on the other side to hold your necklaces.

Here's a peek at some of the new necklaces I got from Charming Charlie's and Ann Taylor. I'm still working on adding in my other jewelry pieces but I'm sure my LBD will be filled in no time!

We also popped into the LUSH store while at the mall and got some goodies. I knew going into the store that I wanted a bath bomb so I picked up Rose Queen, which is filled with rose petals and smells amazing! I can't wait to use that over spring break when I have access to my bath tub!

I also picked up a body butter bar called the Aqua Mirabilis. This is something I wasn't expecting to buy but after the sales woman tested it on my arm, I was convinced! The ground almond shells are a great exfoliator, while the almond butter is extremely moisturizing. I've used it twice already and it's amazing!

That's the conclusion of my first shopping haul. I hope you all enjoyed and please feel free to answer these questions in the comment section below! Also, feel free to leave links to your recent hauls!

- Do you have a Little Black Dress? If not, how do you organize all your jewelry?
- What are your favorite LUSH products? Have you tried either of the ones I bought?
