So I did a really bad thing. I pretty much ruined the surprise of my box this month. I was so anxious to get my Birchbox that I somehow ended up on Youtube watching Chelsea's September Birchbox openings as well as a few others. Don't get me wrong, I love watching them! But I really shouldn't have watched them until AFTER I got mine since they gave me a good idea of what I would be receiving.
This month was all about 'Thank You" since it's Birchbox's 1st year anniversary. (Happy Birthday Birchbox!) Although I've only been a member of Birchbox for two months now, I absolutely love everything about it! The concept is great and I always love the samples I receive! Plus, even if I didn't, what the heck. It's only $10 a month!
They also included this adorable Birchbox friendship bracelet to celebrate their anniversary. I love how it's pink and ties in their logo but is still very stylish. I might find myself wearing this more than I thought.
I was a little disappointed that I only received four items this month. I know it varies every month but after getting six items last month (and two that I use EVERY day - night cream and mascara) it was a bit of a let down. But maybe October will be better! Geez, look at me. Already jumping into next month. I can't help it though. I a) love samples; b) can't wait for wall; and c) need to start planning for Halloween!
Products I Received:
1/ Incoco Nail Polish Appliques
Full Price: $7.99 for 16 strips
My Sample Price: about $5.99 for 12 strips
...I haven' t used these yet but can't wait to try them. I love nail polish but don't wear it often because it always chips after a few days. I'm a perfectionist who just can't live with that. So I'm really excited to see if these will last longer. For any of you have never used nail polish strips, check out this video for help! From what I've seen of other bloggers, everyone got different colors of nail strip so check out the Incoco website for more. Mine are black with pink glitter flowers.
2/ Jouer Lip Enhancer
Full Price: $14 for 0.33 fl oz.
My Sample Price: $2.97 for 0.07 fl oz.
...I have used this product but haven't ever tried lip enhancers in the past. Therefore, I'm not as knowledgeable about them as some women are. But from my perspective, I really like this product. It goes on very smooth and has just a light scent. I am a lip balm junkie and always love trying out new balms and glosses so I was excited to try this. So far I love it but it will probably take a week or so before I can give it my best judgement and see results.3/ Jurlique Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer
Full Price: $15 for 5.9 fl. oz.
My Sample Price: $4.32 for 1.7 oz
...I have used this product and it's a great hand sanitizer. The scent is very natural and not too overpowering like Purell often is. The description says it's made with Australian mint and safflower oil so that would explain it. I think this little beauty will be going into my purse considering it's the perfect size! Would also be great for a trip since airplanes have fluid ounce requirements.4/ LIV GRN Natural Eau de Parfum
Full Price: $60 for 3.4 fl. oz.
My Sample Price: $17.65 for about 1 oz. (size not given)
...I haven' t used this yet and not sure if I will, but we'll see. The scent is nice and kind of fruity. It says it's "laced with orange and neroli." Plus, ten percent of sales go directly to Global Green so that's kind of cool. Anyways, I'm a perfume girl but I tend to stick with the same one. I have used Shania Twain's perfume since, forever. I like smelling other perfumes but can't ever find one I like enough to spend $80+ on. One reason why I like Shania so much -- it's not expensive. But that could change...yesterday at Sephora I bought a $20 rollerball of Daisy by Marc Jacobs. We'll see if I switch over once that's empty. So there's my Birchbox for this month! What did you get in your box? That colorscience foundation seems pretty cool. Or the Pangea Organics. A little bummed I didn't get either of those. Did any of you girls get lucky with either of those?
